Metasprint Series Aquathlon 2023

Sprint distance season was back again with the Metasprint Series kicking off on the first weekend of February. The local multisport scene was buzzing as close to 600+ athletes crowded the Palawan Beach on Sentosa Island on a Sunday morning. With only two major multisport races held on our tiny red dot (Trifactor Series being the only other notable race – aside from those organized by the respective universities such as NUS Biathlon, NTURO and SMU Swim-Run Sprint etc.) many were relishing the chance of pinning on a bib and getting to go full gas over the distance against other athletes!

TRIBAL Triathlon Singapore emerged overall club champions for the aquathlon, improving our position from last year and setting ourselves up nicely for Series 2 (Duathlon) and Series 3 (Triathlon) as we look to defend our overall club championship title.

With a strong training block leading up to the 2023 race season – the TRIBE was out in force for the event with close to 30+ athletes racing. The start list saw many first timers pinning a bib on and it was great to see some junior athletes giving open water swimming a go too! Special mention to the strong performances from the following athletes who gave their best, smashed their personals bests and managed to secure a podium or top five finish in their respective age-group categories!
